What the Scheme Does (Objective)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Girl child born in Tamil Nadu during the notified period of the scheme.
  • Family must be resident of Tamil Nadu.
  • Usually targeted at economically weaker and middle‑income families (exact income limit as per government order).
  • Parents must register the birth and enrol the child in the scheme within the time limit set by the government.

Required Documents

  • Child’s birth certificate
  • Aadhaar of mother, father, and child (if available)
  • Income certificate (if applicable)
  • Community/caste certificate (if required under specific category)
  • Bank account details of mother/guardian (for benefit transfer)
  • Passport‑size photographs of parents and child

This scheme operates strictly via offline physically filed submissions. Applications can be acquired and filed at the following nodal centers:

Local Corporation / Municipality / Panchayat Office (Birth Registration Section)
District Social Welfare Office
ICDS / Anganwadi Centre (for guidance and form collection)
Office Visit Advice: Always bring duplicates of your identity, address proofs, and recent photographs to avoid return trips.
