What the Scheme Does (Objective)

  • Provides free nutritious meals to school children in government and government‑aided schools.
  • Offers breakfast support in eligible schools to improve nutrition and concentration.
  • Reduces food expense burden on families and improves child health and school attendance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Children studying in government and government‑aided schools (as per scheme coverage).
  • In many schools, all students are covered automatically; no separate income test.
  • Pregnant and nursing mothers are supported via ICDS/Anganwadi nutrition services (separate but linked).

Required Documents

  • Usually no separate application by parents for school meals/breakfast.
  • For ICDS nutrition: ration card / Aadhaar / Anganwadi registration may be used.

Guideline 1

This is mostly automatic for children in eligible schools; no need to apply on this website.

Guideline 2

For issues like irregular meals, quality, or exclusion, first speak to the school headmaster.

Guideline 3

If not resolved, approach the District Education Office or Social Welfare Office.

Where to Apply

This scheme operates strictly via offline physically filed submissions. Applications can be acquired and filed at the following nodal centers:

School Office (Headmaster / Principal) – for meal and breakfast scheme queries.
Anganwadi Centre / ICDS Office – for pregnant/nursing women nutrition support.
Office Visit Advice: Always bring duplicates of your identity, address proofs, and recent photographs to avoid return trips.
